Preparation Steps

Step-by-Step Instructions

Review walking safety rules and expectations

Give each student a clipboard with map and pencil

Walk to planned community locations

Stop at each place to observe and discuss

Have students mark locations on their maps

Take photos of students at different community places

Encourage students to notice details and ask questions

Return to school to discuss observations and complete maps
