    Coconut Palm Decorations

    Learning Objectives

    • Create decorations inspired by Caribbean nature
    • Develop fine motor skills through cutting and gluing
    • Learn about tropical plants and their importance
    • Practice following multi-step instructions

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    1. 1Look at pictures of coconut palm trees together
    2. 2Help children cut brown paper for tree trunk
    3. 3Cut green paper into palm frond shapes
    4. 4Glue trunk to paper first
    5. 5Add palm fronds at top of trunk
    6. 6Use cotton balls for coconuts
    7. 7Color background with beach or sky colors
    8. 8Add sun, sand, or water to complete tropical scene

    • ✓Child uses scissors safely with support
    • ✓Child follows steps to create decoration
    • ✓Child shows creativity in adding details
