    Simon Says (Local Twist)

    Learning Objectives

    • Practice listening skills

    Preparation

    • Clear large space for movement
    • Prepare list of local actions: 'sway like a banana tree', 'hop like a grasshopper', 'swim like a fish in the sea'
    • Practice being the leader
    • Set clear boundaries for play area

    Step-by-Step Instructions

      Explain the rules: only move when you hear 'Simon says'

      Start with simple actions everyone knows
    3. 3
      Add local nature actions: 'Simon says flutter like a hummingbird'

      Include cultural actions: 'Simon says dance like at Carnival'

      Give some commands without 'Simon says' to test listening

      Let children take turns being Simon

      Celebrate good listening rather than elimination
